Shoals Technologies Group and Synapse Wireless Unveil Roadmap for SNAPshot Solar Life Cycle Management Ecosystem at Solar Power International
Las Vegas, October 20, 2014 — Shoals Technologies Group, the leading manufacturer of photovoltaic (PV) Balance of Systems (BoS) components, and Synapse Wireless, a leader in wireless solutions that empower the Internet of Things (IoT), continue their partnership in solar innovation with the growing SNAPshot Solar Life Cycle Management Ecosystem.
Plans for the future include tracker control, panel care, and drone monitoring.
SNAPshot Life Cycle Management
SNAPshot provides a holistic system for active management of solar installations. Solar life cycle management increases productivity and efficiency through a number of methods, including identifying underperforming components, alerting owners and operators to malfunctioning parts that can be replaced under warranty, and streamlining ongoing maintenance.
“SNAPshot helps make sure solar field owners and operators are making the most from their installations. It gives better insight into how much productivity you’re really getting and how to increase efficiency,” said Johnny Thorington, VP of Product Management for Synapse Wireless.
The heart of SNAPshot is a purpose-built cloud-based platform that provides anywhere, anytime access to real-time performance data. The cloud enables advanced analytics for enhanced efficiency. Wireless monitoring further extends the functionality of SNAPshot, helping owners and operators increase yield through identification of underperforming zones or strings and proactive repair. SNAPshot can also help get new projects up to speed faster with Velocity Monitoring, which offers precision labor tracking and performance monitoring through the construction and commissioning process. Arc Fault detection is also available with the Shoals Smart Combiner Box to increase peace of mind and decrease potential liability by preventing damage and promoting safety.
Future Roadmap for SNAPshot
Upcoming features for SNAPshot extend its cradle-to-grave functionality by adding 24/7 support, AC monitoring for more detailed output data, and automated maintenance and security options such as tracker control, panel care, and drone security.
“SNAPshot is the future for solar field management, ready today. We look forward to sharing the ecosystem and our plans for its growth at SPI,” said Dean Solon, CEO of Shoals Technologies Group.
Synapse Wireless and Shoals Technologies Group will be exhibiting at Booth 1236, South Hall at Solar Power International, being held October 20-23 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
