Sustainability
Founded in Alabama 30 years ago, Shoals has grown from an automotive parts manufacturer into the world’s largest electrical balance of systems (EBOS) supplier for the solar and storage industry and a trusted provider of power distribution solutions for the rapidly expanding data center market. We are advancing the clean energy transition with patented plug-and-play solutions that cut costs, speed up deployment, and lower emissions, creating cleaner air, healthier communities, local jobs, and reliable energy. We continually work to strengthen our sustainability program with improved governance, data-driven strategies, and transparent communication to drive progress and make our solutions even more competitive.

For 2024 and beyond
Less Environmental Impact
Shoals’ BLA solution is installed above ground, eliminating trenching and reducing soil, water, vegetation, and wildlife impacts. This benefit extends throughout the system’s life by avoiding soil disruption for maintenance and maintains biodiversity on solar development sites.
Higher Energy Efficiency
Shoals’ solutions minimize energy loss with reduced electrical resistance in our interconnect harness and BLA. We optimize projects, delivering higher electricity output compared to conventional systems.
Reduced Resource Use
Shoals’ BLA system streamlines material use, cutting 75% of wire runs and 18% of connections compared to traditional field fabrication methods. Through factory-based production and recycling, we conserve copper, aluminum, and plastics while reducing overall waste.
Extended Product Life
Shoals’ products are built to last the lifetime of the solar field. Our UV-resistant over molds prevent radiation failures, and fiberglass junction boxes outperform metal ones by resisting rust and corrosion.
